What a wonderful dedication to their friend Dorothea Benton Frank, this anthology was a wonderful read by many of my favorite authors (and a few new ones too!)

I love this tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank。 Such a fun collection of memories and stories dedicated to her beautiful life and career。 Each one is slightly different from the other, and are a true reflection of individual styles。 I had one little complaint - and it is not really such; but I wanted more! I did not want it to end! I especially loved Elin Hilderbrand's continuation of the character's from Summer of '69, and Adriana Trigiani's story of postcards from heaven was wonderful。 Thank you I love this tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank。 Such a fun collection of memories and stories dedicated to her beautiful life and career。 Each one is slightly different from the other, and are a true reflection of individual styles。 I had one little complaint - and it is not really such; but I wanted more! I received this book in a Goodreads giveaway。 It was a beautiful book filled with love。 It was a love story for Dorothea Benton Frank from so many of her family and friends。 I wish I had met her。 She sounds like a wonderful person who was gone way too soon。 Enjoy reading this book。 I did。

I was lucky enough to win an advance copy of this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone。 It's a moving compilation of short stories, essays, letters, recipes, and poetry in tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank。 While each contribution to this anthology was enjoyable to read, I just found it so remarkable and inspiring to discover how much Dorothea Benton Frank impacted those around her。 I left this book feeling almost like I knew her myself。 The last sentence in this ant I was lucky enough to win an advance copy of this book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone。 It's a moving compilation of short stories, essays, letters, recipes, and poetry in tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank。 While each contribution to this anthology was enjoyable to read, I just found it so remarkable and inspiring to discover how much Dorothea Benton Frank impacted those around her。 I left this book feeling almost like I knew her myself。 The last sentence in this anthology, written by Dorothea's son, William, captures this sentiment perfectly。 He states, "I hope you get that from reading this anthology and Mom becomes as great a friend to you as she is to me。" It's easy to see why Dorothea Benton Frank is and will be so dearly missed and fondly remembered。 。。。more

This book is a tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank, an author who wrote about family, relationships and the Lowcountry。 I have never been there, but her books made me feel as if I have。 This one has several short stories and a few memoirs written by her friends。 From what they all write, Dottie was an amazing woman! The short stories are all beach reads and the memoirs are sweet stories (mostly) about meeting Dotty or time spent。 If you're a fan of Dottie or of any of the contributing authors I hig This book is a tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank, an author who wrote about family, relationships and the Lowcountry。 I have never been there, but her books made me feel as if I have。 This one has several short stories and a few memoirs written by her friends。 From what they all write, Dottie was an amazing woman! Full disclosure: Long-time fan, as in read every book by DBF, and ardent admirer of this author who I had the pleasure of meeting a few times。 Also, I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review。 I tried really hard to be unbiased but truth is I was moved and brought to tears reading these personal stories, memories and heart-felt tributes。Reunion Beach was the chosen name for her next novel。 Instead, it is a most unique collection of loving memories, stories and Full disclosure: Long-time fan, as in read every book by DBF, and ardent admirer of this author who I had the pleasure of meeting a few times。 Also, I was provided an advance copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review。 I tried really hard to be unbiased but truth is I was moved and brought to tears reading these personal stories, memories and heart-felt tributes。Reunion Beach was the chosen name for her next novel。 Instead, it is a most unique collection of loving memories, stories and poems inspired by Dorothea Benton Frank。 With an introduction by her daughter, Victoria, an afterword by her son, William, it also includes her husband Peter’s speech given at Dot’s Celebration of Life。 More than a book you will read, it is more a feeling you will experience。。。that to know her was to love her and you will wish you were lucky enough to be her friend or family but ever so thankful she wrote so many books。 Highlights were many in this anthology。 She tells about the night she and her husband met Gore Vidal in a New York bar。 Dot had a question for him and very much wanted to meet him。 Her three “Letters to Her Readers” are precious and meaningful。Ein Hilderbrand contributes ten chapters that follow the characters from her bestseller “Summer of ‘69” ten years later。Adriana Trigiani’s “Postcards From Heaven” has Pat Conroy meeting up with Dorothea in heaven for dinner and drinks and reminiscing of good times in the Lowcountry。 Mary Alice Monroe has a "short story" that one can hope may turn into a novel。 I was hooked。The final entry written by her son, William Frank, is a warm and touching tribute to his mother, filled with love, respect and admiration。And there is much more。 This tribute book is a must read for Dot Frank fans and all fans of women’s southern fiction。 。。。more

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book。 I was so excited to get this book! When Dorothea Benton Frank passed away in 2019, her death rocked our world as writers and readers。 And her departure left us wanting to do something special to pay tribute to Dottie's life and her legacy。 REUNION BEACH is a beautiful anthology that captures her unforgettable spirit, joy, and humor in stories of reunions and love。 It features short stories from me, Elin Hilderbrand, Patti Callahan Henry, Adriana Trigiani, and Cassandra King, recipes from Nathalie Dupree, a poem by Marjory Wentwor When Dorothea Benton Frank passed away in 2019, her death rocked our world as writers and readers。 And her departure left us wanting to do something special to pay tribute to Dottie's life and her legacy。 REUNION BEACH is a beautiful anthology that captures her unforgettable spirit, joy, and humor in stories of reunions and love。 It features short stories from me, Elin Hilderbrand, Patti Callahan Henry, Adriana Trigiani, and Cassandra King, recipes from Nathalie Dupree, a poem by Marjory Wentworth-- poet laureate of South Carolina, and other wonderful friends and family。REUNION BEACH is the title of the next book Dottie had planned to write。 Today, it's a literary homage and beautiful keepsake to the writer we all loved so much。 。。。more

Reunion Beach is a tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank aka Dottie。 Her thought for her next book, before she passed away, was going to be called Reunion Beach。 It was after attending her high school reunion that she thought might make a good story。 Her friends wrote short stories on reunions。 The also wrote about how they met her and their friendship。 There are also poems and her husband Peter’s toast from her Memorial。 I would love for some of the stories to be expanded, maybe into another book。 I Reunion Beach is a tribute to Dorothea Benton Frank aka Dottie。 Her thought for her next book, before she passed away, was going to be called Reunion Beach。 It was after attending her high school reunion that she thought might make a good story。 Her friends wrote short stories on reunions。 The also wrote about how they met her and their friendship。 There are also poems and her husband Peter’s toast from her Memorial。 I would love for some of the stories to be expanded, maybe into another book。 I was fortunate to meet Dottie on her book tour for By Invitation Only。 She was everything her friends said she was。 I loved her sense of humor and her story about how she started writing books。 Thank you to HarperCollins for the E-ARC。 This is my own opinion。 。。。more
